Imagin.ed

Imagin.ed is a learning design business in Melbourne led by a small team of educational specialists. They provide consultancy services as well as creating interactive, digital-education solutions for the 21st century. Their clients include government, large corporations, hospitals, tafes and universities.

I was tasked with designing a fun and engaging brand identity, website, stationery and email signatures for the company. It needed to reflect the new and dynamic field that they specialise in, whilst still projecting a sense of reliability and trustworthiness. To that end I created a bold, playful and colourful identity that utilises geometric patterns and iconography. The website features a set of animated icons which I created in Aftereffects, and embedded into the site using the excellent Lottie animation library.

You can view a paired down version of the website I designed here.

Accessibility mode

Government clients represent 60% of their business, so designing products with maximum accessibility was extremely important. This was a huge part of our brief, and was the reason for choosing such a graphic style for the brand’s personality. We used very large text throughout, and always designed to ensure legibility and ease of use for all users.

Rather than limiting ourselves to a colour palette which would ALWAYS pass legibility standards, we pitched the idea of the innovative ‘Accessibility mode’ switch which you can see here. Turning it on changes the colours through the site via CSS, to always have maximum contrast for excellent legibility. This was a win/win as it allowed us to keep a fun and vibrant colour palette, whilst communicating to their clients how seriously they take accessibility in a unique and engaging fashion.
